Strengthening Toyota’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) lineup, the Urban Cruiser brings together bold, stylish SUV styling, compact agile proportions and everyday practicality. Purpose-built for urban lifestyles, it offers the practicality and confidence of an SUV while remaining effortlessly city-friendly, carving out a distinct niche within Toyota’s growing BEV range.
SINGAPORE, 1 October 2026 — Borneo Motors Singapore (BMS) today announced the arrival of the All-New Toyota Urban Cruiser, now available for viewing at the Toyota Leng Kee Showroom. Tailored for city life, the compact all-electric SUV reinforces Toyota’s multi-pathway approach to mobility, with the Urban Cruiser further strengthening its BEV offering in Singapore by delivering greater choice, everyday practicality and versatility.
Built around Toyota’s ‘Urban Tech’ design concept, the Urban Cruiser is a compact, city-focused electric SUV that brings together agile driving, contemporary styling and everyday versatility. Designed for modern urban lifestyles, it is easy to live with in the city while offering the comfort, practicality and flexibility expected of an SUV.
“The introduction of the Urban Cruiser reinforces Toyota’s commitment to providing customers with a diverse range of electrified mobility solutions.” said Mr Colin Christie, Managing Director of BMS. “Compact yet versatile, the Urban Cruiser is designed to meet the needs of urban drivers who seek the practicality of an SUV in a more agile and city-friendly package. As we continue to grow Toyota’s battery electric vehicle lineup, we remain focused on delivering vehicles that combine innovative technology with the quality, reliability and durability that Toyota is known for.”
Design
The Urban Cruiser’s front end is defined by Toyota’s signature Hammerhead design, featuring a wide, low-slung stance, sleek LED lighting and a sculpted bumper that give the vehicle a confident road presence while retaining compact, city-friendly proportions. Distinctive front and rear lighting elements, together with sculpted body lines, reinforce its SUV character without adding visual bulk. Built from the ground up on the BEV platform, the Urban Cruiser combines a lightweight, high-rigidity body structure with the strategic use of high-tensile steel to enhance strength, efficiency and driving performance.
At the rear, the lighting units extend into the vehicle’s muscular rear haunches, reinforcing its strong and sophisticated SUV stance. The automatic LED light elements are arranged in parallel lines, creating a distinctive and modern lighting signature that enhances the Urban Cruiser’s visual presence both day and night.
Designed for urban driving, the Urban Cruiser combines a compact footprint with generous interior space and easy manoeuvrability. Measuring 4,285 mm in length and featuring a tight 5.2-metre turning radius, it is well suited for navigating busy streets and tight parking spaces. Its long 2,700 mm wheelbase further contributes to a spacious and comfortable cabin while maintaining the agility expected of a compact urban SUV.
Interior and Cargo
Designed with flexibility in mind, the Urban Cruiser maximises every millimetre of its compact footprint. Its long wheelbase translates into generous rear passenger accommodation, while sliding and reclining rear seats allow occupants to prioritise either passenger comfort or cargo capacity depending on the journey.
With the rear seats in place, the cargo capacity holds up to 306 litres. With the rear seats folded, capacity expands to 562 litres, providing ample room for luggage, sports equipment, shopping and everyday essentials.
The cabin features a contemporary design centred around a floating centre console and integrated digital display system. Comfort and convenience are further enhanced by configurable ambient lighting with 12 colour options, wireless smartphone charging, USB-A and USB-C connectivity, and multiple storage compartments throughout the cabin.
Technology and Connectivity
The cockpit integrates a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch centre touchscreen into a seamless display experience. The integrated display system supports Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while providing centralised access to navigation, vehicle settings and charging information.
To support everyday driving, a 360° Panoramic View Monitor provides both bird’s-eye and eye-level views around the vehicle, giving drivers greater visibility and confidence when parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces and everyday driving situations.
Powertrain
The Urban Cruiser is powered by a compact and power-dense Front eAxle, which integrates motor, transmission and inverter into a single unit. Energy is supplied by a lithium iron-phosphate (LFP) battery featuring a liquid-cooling system selected for its durability, thermal stability and consistent charging performance. It also comes with built-in safeguards against overheating short circuits for optimum safety and security.
Drivers can choose from three drive modes: ECO, NORMAL and SPORT. ECO mode helps maximise energy efficiency by optimising accelerator response and reducing air-conditioning energy consumption. NORMAL mode provides balanced performance for everyday driving, while SPORT mode delivers sharper throttle response for a more engaging driving experience.

For added occupant protection, the Urban Cruiser is equipped with seven airbags, providing an additional layer of passive safety for occupants in the event of an impact.
