RAV4: Rear Seat Cushion Frame Repair

Thu, 18 February 2016

Following the announcement made by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in Japan on 18 February 2016, Borneo Motors Singapore (BMS) has been notified that the safety-related vehicle recall on rear seat cushion frame may involve select Toyota RAV4 model.

This is a proactive measure Toyota is taking to ensure the continued safety of our Toyota customers.

The involved vehicles are equipped with lap-shoulder seatbelts in both outboard seating positions of the second row seats. Due to the shape of the metal seat cushion frame, there is a possibility that, in the event of a very severe frontal collision, the lap belt webbing could contact a portion of the metal seat cushion frame, become cut, and separate. If this occurs, the seat belt may not properly restrain the occupant, which could increase the risk of injury.

Under this recall, BMS will inspect and install, if necessary, a resin protector to the rear metal seat cushion frame. The remedy will be performed at no cost to vehicle owners.

At the moment, we are still pending further clarifications on the involved Toyota RAV4 model distributed and sold by BMS.

Customers can call our Toyota Customer Contact Centre at 6631 1188 or email at cr@inchcape.com.sg for assistance.
